COVID-19 took our world by storm. The way we all go about our daily routine was completely turned upside down. Almost every part of our daily routines was altered, if not halted altogether. For the world of athletics, we all took small steps and created new protocols and safeguards in an attempt to return to sports while putting athletes in the least amount of harm as possible.
Like every other athletic program, FHS XC had to navigate through an unprecedented start to our competition season. Several of our student-athletes decided to forego participation in the 2020 cross country season, and we had to ease several new team members to the rigors of 5K competition.
The 2020 season started with the Chandler Invitational. Senior Aseya Arzate kicked off her final season of competition by setting a new PR with her 31:50.72 finish.
