Wrangler Guilliams has been a cornerstone for the FHS Track & Field Program, being the team's top performer in the shot put and discus throws over the last few seasons. Having qualified to compete in the AIA Division III State Championships in each of the last 2 seasons.
After starting the 2023 season with 1st place finishes in the shot and discus at our Home Meet on 2/28/23 and beating his previous best mark in the shot (47-11), he finished 1st in the shot and 3rd in the discus at the Sabercat Co-ed Relays.
Guilliams is no stranger to podium finishes. Guilliams' 47-2 throw in the shot put at the Marana Invitational on 4/7/23 earned him a 2nd place medal. He followed that up finishing 2nd in the shot put and 3rd in the discus at our Home Meet on 4/12/23.
While he set his new PR in the shot early in the season, Guillliams had several throws that were close to his best mark in the discus throughout the season. At the Pinal County Track & Field Championships on 4/21/23, his 134-8 discus throw earned him a 2nd place finish and set his new PR in the process. Guilliams also finished 2nd in the shot put on 4/21/23.
The following day, Guilliams added to his collection by finishing 1st in the shot put at the Sentinel Invite.
